Why Taman Connaught Night Market Stands Out

Taman Connaught isn’t just any night market—it’s Malaysia’s longest! Known for its bustling atmosphere and endless variety of food options, this market offers something for everyone. Whether you’re craving savory skewers, sweet desserts, or unique local delicacies, you’ll find it here. It’s also a hub for locals and tourists alike, making it a perfect spot to soak in the culture while indulging in mouthwatering eats.

What We Ate at Taman Connaught Night Market

Chicken Skewers
These smoky skewers caught our attention right away. While they had a bold peppery flavor and a nice crust from the grill, they were slightly over-seasoned and dry. Still worth trying if you’re a fan of classic street food!

Breakfast Sandwich

This was hands-down one of our favorite bites! Imagine fluffy bread fried in seasoned batter until golden and crispy on the outside. The egg and meat fillings were cooked in custom molds to lock in all their flavor. It’s like McDonald’s breakfast—but 1,000 times better! The only thing missing was cheese to make it perfect.

Loh Mai Kai

This dim sum favorite was a delightful surprise at the night market! Sticky glutinous rice soaked in sweet soy sauce paired with tender chicken that melted in our mouths—it was pure comfort food.

San Ji Bao

Unfortunately, this dish didn’t live up to its potential. The bun was dry—so dry it felt like chewing through sandpaper—and lacked flavor overall. A rare miss in an otherwise amazing market experience.

Crystal Dumplings

These translucent dumplings looked beautiful but were served cold, which took away from their appeal. The flavor was decent but could have been much better if served warm and steamy.

Penang Mochi with Peanuts

We ended the night with this soft and chewy dessert tossed in crushed peanuts and sugar. The mochi was so fresh it practically melted in our mouths, while the nutty crunch added the perfect contrast to its sweetness. A must-try dessert!
