Luxury Barber Experience at Truefitt & Hill

First Stop: Truefitt & Hill Barber Shop at Central Embassy

We kicked off the day with a trip to Truefitt & Hill, a legendary barbershop founded in London in 1805 and recognized as the world’s oldest barbershop by the Guinness World Records. Their Bangkok location at Central Embassy brings that same heritage to Southeast Asia. From a private treatment room to complimentary espresso service, the team went all out. The full service included a hot towel shave, hair wash, cut, and styling. But with a $100 CAD price tag, the question remains: was it worth it?

Fun Find: PENT Luxury Exercise Equipment
Before the haircut, we stumbled upon PENT, a luxury exercise equipment brand that makes working out look as stylish as it gets. The sleek design and high-quality materials are perfect for a dream home gym. One day, when we have a home and the budget, this is definitely on the wishlist!

Central Embassy Food Court – Street Food with a Luxury Twist

Exploring Bangkok’s Food Scene at Central Embassy

After our grooming session, we headed to the Central Embassy Food Court for some of Bangkok’s most delicious dishes. This food court takes street food favorites and elevates them, offering a refined twist on classics like creamy tom yum, duck noodles, and the star of the show: crispy, savory oyster pancakes.

The food court sits on one of Central Embassy’s lower floors and features an open, airy layout with individual stalls run by different vendors. Unlike many Bangkok malls where the food courts feel chaotic, this one has a calm, organized atmosphere. Air conditioning, clean seating, and a wide variety of Thai dishes make it a smart stop any time of day. Prices are a step above street level but still very reasonable by Bangkok standards.

If you’re a foodie visiting Bangkok, this is a must-visit spot. The quality and presentation make it a perfect place to enjoy Thai flavors in a comfortable setting. You can easily spend an hour here working your way through several small dishes.

Tip from the Chungs: This is a great place to try a variety of dishes without the hassle of navigating street stalls. Ideal for anyone who wants to experience Bangkok’s flavors in a modern, air-conditioned space!

Above Eleven Rooftop Bar – Cocktails with a View

Ending the Day at Above Eleven Rooftop Bar

To top off the night, we headed to Above Eleven Rooftop Bar on Sukhumvit. Sitting on the 33rd floor of the Fraser Suites building on Sukhumvit Soi 11, this bar offers panoramic views of Bangkok’s skyline and is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Sipping cocktails while watching the city lights is a perfect way to wrap up a day filled with luxury and adventure.

The bar has an outdoor terrace where you can take in the city from above, plus an indoor lounge area with Peruvian-Japanese fusion food if you want to eat. The cocktail menu blends classic drinks with Southeast Asian ingredients and the presentation is solid. We recommend arriving just before sunset to catch the city transition from golden light to full neon.

If you’re exploring Bangkok’s nightlife, don’t miss this spot. It’s an incredible blend of city vibes and luxury, making it a perfect end to any day in Bangkok.

Planning Your Own Bangkok Luxury Day

If this day sounds like something you want to replicate, here’s how to make it work. Central Embassy is on Ploenchit Road in the Lumphini area, directly connected to Ploenchit BTS Skytrain station. Getting there is straightforward from anywhere on the BTS Sukhumvit line, which makes it an easy first or last stop on a day around Bangkok.

For the Truefitt & Hill experience, we recommend booking in advance since appointment slots fill quickly, especially on weekends. Their services range from basic haircuts to full grooming packages. The $100 CAD we spent covered a comprehensive service that included multiple steps. If you want the full VIP experience, budget at least 90 minutes.

Above Eleven is a short Grab ride from Central Embassy, about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic on Sukhumvit. The bar opens in the early evening and gets busy after 8pm. No strict dress code, but smart casual fits the vibe well. Check the Above Eleven website for current hours and reservations before you go.

Budget-wise, this kind of day runs on the higher end for Bangkok but is still a fraction of what the same experiences would cost in cities like Singapore, Tokyo, or London. That’s part of what makes Bangkok so compelling: you can do luxury without the full luxury price tag.
